This inspiringly-artistic movement that unites flowers and design has taken Qatar by storm.
Tell us about the concept of Florm?
“Architecture is life , or at least it is life taking form”. – Frank Lloyd Wright
Florm, above all, is an idea. It’s an expression of femininity and strength. What better to represent both than flowers and design in form of architecture. I’m an architect and I love flowers, so I understand how both can go hand-in-hand. Florm is a reflection of who I am and what my mind can achieve.

What inspires you?
Nature, in all shapes and form, inspires me.

What will become of Florm in the next five years?
I see Florm as a creative movement for greater depth not only for design and flowers, but also as an expression of how all of that can make us feel. Florm will become a brand in itself.
Who is FLORM?
Florm is a woman, among others. She stands for the right to be colorful, vibrant, expressive, creative, structured and iconic. Florm is feminine with a titanium backbone. She is every mother, daughter, boss, and wife, who understands the power of creativity.

Flowers make me feel connected and in touch with my inner and higher self, and with nature. Architecture makes me feel strong, it gives me disposition.
What is your favorite building in Qatar?
National Museum of Qatar. Its creativity and intricate structure inspired by a desert rose made me see how nature can be a great source of inspiration.

Favorite building in the world?
It’s actually a house and historical landmark called Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright.
A masterpiece of his theories on organic architecture. He integrated our way of life as human beings, design, and the nature we belong to. The trinity of his life’s work in my opinion.
Wright believed that architecture must not only sit comfortably within its natural landscape, but must also cultivate and reveal the dormant qualities hidden with its settings. Magical!
If you were to become a flower what would would it be and why?
Peonies! They symbolize love, happiness, abundance and beauty.

Your message to aspiring artists out there?
We are one with nature and we belong to nature. Always move with it, and most of all, appreciate it.
